KZN man survives after being thrown off cliff
Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe
Paramedics say the man fell about 30 metres down a 100 metre cliff, landing on a ledge near a waterfall.
It is believed the incident occurred last night and the man was discovered by two passers by this morning who then alerted authorities.
Paramedics and SAPS Search and Rescue spent roughly two hours on the rescue operation. IPSS's Paul Herbst says the patient had been trapped since last night.
''The patient had been there for approximately 18 hours suffering from severe hypothermia and multiple fractures.
''We set up an advanced hurling system and did a technical rescue with the rescue basket and managed to get the patient back up to land,'' he said.
