A 45-year-old KZN man has been jailed for 15 years for rape.
Police spokesperson Captai Nqobile Gwala says the man raped his 15-year-old niece at her home in Shayamoya - in Kostad - during February last year.
Despite being threatened not to report the incident, the teen told other family members about the attack.
"A case of rape was opened at Kokstad police station and assigned to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit. The suspects was arrested on the same day and after several court appearances, he was found guilty of rape and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment," Gwala says.
