KZN man gets life sentence for double murder
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
A KZN man has been handed a life sentence for a double murder.
Forty-year-old Sifiso Mthembu was sentenced in the Durban High Court yesterday.
In 2015, Mthembu used his girlfriend's tablet device to send a message to the man she had been cheating with - telling him she'd been assaulted and needed help - while pretending to be her.
Instead of going there himself, the man arranged for his brother to fetch Mthembu's girlfriend from the location Mthembu provided.

The man's brother and a friend were lured to an area called Sand Pitt in Verulam - where Mthembu killed them both.
The NPA's Natara Kara says the sentences received will run concurrently.
"The accused was sentenced for the double murder as well as for theft and robbery with aggravating circumstances. The accused was sentenced to 12 months in prison for the robbery and theft. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders which were also taken as one for the purpose of sentencing," she said.
