KZN Education prioritises improving Maths, Science in 2016
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The KZN Education Department says more of its focus in 2016 will be on key subjects where results declined last year.
A little over 39% of matrics who sat for their National Senior Certificate exams in the province failed.
MEC Peggy Nkonyeni says the subjects that require more attention include Accounting, Maths and Physical Science, among others.
"Despite the declines in key subjects, the performance of the province shows that the number of passes were satisfactory. This is illustrated as follows - Mathematics, 85 057 wrote and 28 265 passed.
"In Physical Science, 51 163 wrote and 25 988 passed," she said.
