Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal says it's relieved no schools have been affected by the weekend floods.
The department's spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says officials were sent out on Monday to do assessments.
"The preliminary report that we are handling is that the May rains has not damaged any of our schools, except roads leading to some of the schools being closed because of safety.
"We are continuing to assess and receive reports every day."

Mahlambi says all of the 620 schools that were damaged during last month's downpours are operating.
"We assisted by providing mobile classrooms, some it was a matter of cleaning up the school.
"Some damages are going to be attended to by the district and where is serious damages it's doing to be given to implementing agencies to repair the schools, but in the meantime, we have provided the schools with mobile classrooms."
