KZN doctor who died in storm 'was humble, hardworking'

The colleagues of a local doctor, who drowned during heavy storms in Umzinyathi District in northern KZN, say they are shocked and saddened by his death.

Sakheni Ncube lost his life when a vehicle he and another person had been travelling in was pulled into floodwaters while they were crossing a bridge.
Sibonelo Dube, who worked with Ncube who specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology, has described him as a dedicated and hardworking man, who always made his patients smile.
"Dr. Ncube was a jolly person - although humble and down to earth. I remember the conversation I had with the medical manager yesterday. He is saddened about the loss. Dr. Ncube was one of the best doctors among his colleagues. We have lost a talented doctor," he says.

While, KZN Health MEC Sbongsieni Dhlomo has sent his condolences, saying it's a sad loss to the both Ncube family and the country's healthcare sector.
