KZN disaster management on standby following warnings of thunderstorms, gale force winds

Disaster management authorities say teams are ready to respond to emergencies following warnings of thunderstorms, gale force winds and snow in parts of the province.
The South African Weather Service Forecaster, Julius Mahlangu says there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thundershowers over most parts of KZN on Monday.
"At the moment, some thunderstorms are observed in places around Greytown in the midlands of KZN, as well as the north western parts around Ladysmith moving towards New Castle," she said.
Meanwhile, Cooperative Governance spokesperson, Lennox Mabaso says we must all try and keep safe in these conditions.
"We are urging everybody to exercise caution on the road. We are urging motorists particularly, because these weather conditions turns to be worse in the evening," he said.
"We are aware that snow is starting to fall around the berg area, and we are also warning anybody, who, including the snow-watchers to be very careful and for people to exercise caution and ensure safety first," she said.
