KZN cop sentenced to 10 years for murder
A 41-year-old police officer has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murder and attempted murder.
The officer was convicted at the Umbumbulu Magistrate's Court on Thursday, for shooting two men at a liquor store in KwaMakhutha, south of Durban three years ago, while off-duty.
Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson, Sontaga Seisa says Constable Bongumusa Ncwane shot and wounded a 40-year-old man.
Seisa says the same shot killed a 26-year-old male who was nearby.
