#KessieNair wants presiding magistrate to be recused from case
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Kessie Nair wants another magistrate appointed to hear his new bail application in his crimen injuria case.
The Durban man was arrested after he posted a video of himself racially abusing President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Nair was refused bail earlier this month. Last week, his attorney told the court they would be bringing a fresh bail application based on new facts.
Nair's attorneys have indicated that they plan on bringing an application for the magistrate who heard his initial bail bid to recuse herself from the case.

At this stage, it is not clear what grounds the application is being brought, but it has been set out for next week.
In the meantime, the State is verifying an alternative address that has now been provided for Nair ahead of his second bail.
