Twitter goes wild over #Kanye2020!
Just hours after announcing he intends to run for America's top job in 2020, a range of 'Kanye for President' t-shirts have appeared for sale online.
He made the revelation at the MTV Video Music Awards overnight, where he picked up a lifetime achievement prize.
Here are other famous persons that have run for political leadership.
- Billionaire, Donald Trump is currently running for presidency in 2016.
- Wyclef Jean - After the earthquake in Haiti, the hip-hop artist ran for President of Haiti but was later disqualified as he was no longer a resident there. Musician, Youssou N'dour ran for president of Senegal in the 2012 election. He was disqualified because there was doubt over the authenticity of the signatures he collected to endorse his campaign.
- Howard Stern - 'America’s Got Talent' judge ran for governor of New York in 1994.
- Jerry Springer - The TV presenter worked on Robert F. Kennedy's presidential campaign. He ran for Congress in Cincinnati in 1970 but he lost.
- Actor, Clint Eastwood was mayor of a Californian town from 1986 to 1988.
- Actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California in 2003 but stepped down in 2011 - after saying he chose to return to acting. Allegations soon surfaced of having fathered a 10-year-old child outside his marriage without his wife knowing.
