The Department of Correctional Services says two of the escapees are considered dangerous

One prisoner escaped from the Ncome Correctional Centre near Vryheid at the weekend while two others escaped from the Madadeni Regional Court near Newcastle earlier this week.

The two men abducted a female Correctional Services employee in the process. She was later found unharmed.

The men allegedly used a firearm to help them escape. The department's Thulani Mdluli has appealed to the public to be vigilant.

"We must say to the public that the two are very dangerous, they face charges of kidnapping and murder. At the moment, they are at large so as the Department of Correctional Services in KZN, we are also appealing to any member of the public who might have the information that please report to the police or alternatively they can phone the crime prevention number," he said.
