Updated | By Lauren Beukes
KwaZulu-Natal police have opened an inquest docket after the body of a newborn baby was found in a dustbin in central Durban.
Metro police search and rescue were called to the scene - after members of the public found the infant in a bin at City Hall yesterday.
It's understood there were efforts to try to resuscitate the baby - but it was too late.
The police's Nqobile Gwala says a case was opened at Durban Central station.
