Home Affairs Minister outlines services under level 2 lockdown
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says some services still remain suspended during level a2 of the lockdown.
The minister said they are only issuing IDs for new entrances, "Any other person we are not yet issuing IDs. We are not yet issuing passports, except for a specific group of people, such as essential service workers," added Motsoaledi
"We are also not opening our borders, whatever functions are happening at the borders, we are not giving those services. There also no services at the refugee reception centres, they remain closed.
Motsoaledi also says all those in the country but whose VISAs or work permits expired during lockdown need not worry.

He says these people were taken into consideration when the grace period was extended.
"When the lockdown started we said we are extending it up to the 31st of July, when that time arrived we extened it to the 31st of October and we are still inside that period," he said.
"So whether it is a work permit, visitors visa or business visa, they are all extended up to the 31st of October, you don't have to worry. "
