Updated | By MornéJK
There is still a heavy police presence in the North West town of Coligny, amid violent protests by the community.
Shops were looted and buildings were set alight as angry community members took to the streets with rocks and burning tyres, barricading roads in and around town.
According to police, three houses as well as office buildings and vehicles were set alight by members of the community. They are demanding the arrest of a farmer in connection with the death of a 12-year-old boy.
Community members allege that the 12-year-old was forced onto the back of a bakkie.
He later fell from the moving vehicle and died.
