Healthcare workers down tools due to unsafe working conditions
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
Some healthcare workers have not reported for work today following a call to stay at home by union NEHAWU.
The union's KZN Provincial Secretary Ayanda Zulu says some workers haven't yet received salary increases that were due in April.
He says they've also been raising issues of non-compliance of COVID-19 regulations in the public health sector.
"Workers are not safe at work, they have exposed themselves in the most unfavourable working conditions," he says.
The campaign is currently taking place and in most workplaces across the province is completely shutdown.
