Health MEC says Ntuzuma crash victims receiving best possible care

The KZN Health Department says the children hurt in a crash in Ntuzuma, north of Durban, while on their way to the first day of school this morning - are receiving the best possible treatment.
Four other pupils were killed when a taxi and a bus collided this morning. About 20 other people - mostly children - were hurt.
Health MEC, Sibongiseni Dhlomo, says one child who was critically hurt had to be airlifted to hospital.

Dhlomo says the department has been left saddened by the incident.

He thanked emergency services for their quick response at the scene.
"We would like to thank the emergency medical services staff who were available on time, to really be able to assess and indicate that one of the children was critically injured, and had to be airlifted by helicopter to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital," he said.
Dhlomo said specialists are working hard to save the lives of those who sustained serious injuries.
