Provincial Secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli gave a briefing today on the outcomes of Friday's Provincial Executive Committee meeting.

"Mayor of oPhongolo Local Municipality comrade Winnie Nhlabathi, Speaker of Umngeni Local Municipality comrade Zine Dlamini, Deputy Mayor of Emadlangeni Local Municipality comrade Ntsikelelo Ndlovu and the Speaker of Umkhanyakude District Municipality comrade Solomon Msane." says Ntuli.

Ntuli says this is to speed up service delivery in these areas.

He says the PEC will sit again over the next few days to discuss the filling of these vacancies.

He also says all party members who are serving at all levels of government will undergo lifestyle audits in a bid to root out corruption.

"The practice of lifestyle audit is therefore crucial for the leadership that is driven by transparency and has absolutely nothing to hide from the great masses of our people.

"It is a reaffirmation of our declared commitment that we serve at the complete behest of our people and will always endeavour to remain accountable," says Ntuli.

The party has also promised action against a regional leader who was caught on video distributing alcohol to family members when liquor sales were still banned.

The incident, involving uMkhanyakude Municipality chief whip Maniza Chantal Ngcobo, is said to have happened earlier this month - during a ceremony following her mother's death.

Ngcobo will have to give up half of her salary.

"The chief whip will have to do compulsory community work and half of her monthly salary will have to be donated to an NGO that will be determined by the ANC Provincial Executive Committee."
