A Gauteng schoolboy has died after a wall collapsed at his school in Daveyton during lunch break.
Five pupils were injured when part of the structure gave way at Lerutle Primary School.
Gauteng MEC for Education, Matome Chiloane says they are shocked and saddened by the tragedy.
What do authorities know so far?
The Gauteng Department of Education said on Friday that preliminary information indicates that a section of the school wall reportedly collapsed during breaktime on Thursday.

The wall fell onto six pupils, leaving them with severe injuries.
All six were transported by emergency services to various medical facilities for urgent treatment.
One of the injured learners, a Grade 3 boy, later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention in the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the wall collapse are currently under investigation.
The department has deployed psychosocial support teams to provide counselling and emotional support to affected pupils, educators, and bereaved families.
Another learner fatality
The death comes amid a probe into the passing of a Grade 5 learner at Reagile Primary School in Tembisa.

The learner was among a group playing near soccer goal posts when one allegedly fell on top of him.
The tragic incident took place at the school during the second break.
