Updated | By Portia Cele
A family of three were travelling home from a vacation when the vehicle drove down a 12-metre embankment in western Alberta, Canada.
It is reported little Lexi Shymanski managed to crawl out of the wreckage and flag down a motorist who alerted emergency workers.
The mum, Angela who was the driver of the vehicle, sustained spinal injuries and extensive internal injuries while her 10-week-old brother, Peter suffered minor swelling of the brain.
Paramedics reached the car by using a rope system and the family was airlifted to hospital.
An initiative has been launched on GoFundMe to help raise funds for the family following the incident.
