Four children die in Hillcrest house fire
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Four children have been killed in a house fire in Hillcrest, west of Durban.

It is understood the two boys and two girls, aged one, two, five and seven years, had been left alone in the property on Twins Road last night when the blaze broke out in a room.
The police's Nqobile Gwala says the children's mother came back home to find that the fire had started.
"When she came back, she noticed that the bedroom where the kids were sleeping caught fire. It was only the bedroom that caught fire."

Gwala says an inquest and charges of child neglect are being investigated by Hillcrest SAPS.
The children were found huddled together in the corner of the bedroom. Gwala says assistance was given to the distraught mother.
