Fire officials confirm #Durbanfire contained, although still alight
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The eThekwini Fire Department has confirmed that the Rossburgh warehouse fire has been contained, although parts of the storage facility are still ablaze.
It's been more than 24 hours since the fire broke out, sending massive plumes of black smoke up into the air.
It appears there is progress in the firefighting efforts, as eThekwini Chief Fire Commander, Enoch Mchunu, says they've now reduced the number of firefighters on the scene from around 150 down to 80.

Mchunu also says businesses and roads that had been closed in the immediate vicinity yesterday have since been reopened.
"By this time there should be no problem in terms of the immediate industrial activities. We just closed them down last night as a matter of precaution. So, at 4am today we opened the roads that were closed last night so there's free-flowing traffic. The nearby industries may continue with their businesses - there's no immediate danger," he said.

Meanwhile, Durbanites have rallied around the dozens of brave firefighters who have been tackling the blaze, praising them for their hard work.
Crews worked from the morning when the fire broke out and were relieved by other teams who arrived in the early evening for the next shift, working throughout the night.
