Fear returns to uMthwalume community after discovery of burnt, dumped body
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A community leader in uMthwalume, on the South Coast, says locals have gone back to living in fear.
This after police recovered another human body yesterday found burnt beyond recognition dumped on the side of the road.
KZN police are still investigating if the latest discovery is related to the recent murders of five women whose bodies were dumped at a sugar cane field.
DA's Ugu councillor Leonard Ngcobo says yesterday's discovery is disappointing.
"This happens as this chapter of murders has not been closed, so this is really terrible", he said.
"We are not sure when it will end but again we are calling on government to strengthen law enforcement and to find it out if there aren't any more bodies", Ngcobo said.
Police have not yet released information on the identity of the body.
