Police say Singh was on the road outside his home near the gate when he was run over by two cars.

They say the suspects then made a U-turn attempting to knock Singh again but he was rescued by his brother-in-law.

Singh's sister, Vashna Moolchand says the family are focused on Singh right now but hope that the law will take its course with those arrested.

"The main concern for doctors was brain injury because he hasn't gained consciousness and hasn't opened his eyes. So the neurologist said that they will be running a few tests again to see how much more and what can be done."

"Everyone says he is a miracle right now and only a miracle can heal. And if prayer can move mountains, I'm sure a prayer can bring my brother home and we appreciate every prayer," she says.

Police confirmed that two men have been arrested and charged with attempted murder. Judgment in their bail application is set to be heard in the Port Shepstone Magistrates Court this week.
