Family of slain top Ndwedwe cop: Our prayers have been answered

The family of a murdered Ndwedwe top cop says they are pleased police eventually caught up with those thought to have been behind his death.
Three suspects who were positively linked to station commander, Jabulani Ndawonde’s murder were killed in a shootout with police near Pietermaritzburg on Monday.
Ndawonde was killed in a drive-by shooting near Bhamshela taxi rank last month.
Family spokesperson Mbuso Ndawonde says police must track down the remaining suspect.
"My bother won't come back, but we can say are happy, our prayers have been answered."

Meanwhile, one of the two police dogs shot in the head during Monday's exchange between the suspects and police, is said to be recovering well at a veterinary clinic.
Another canine, Simba, was killed in the shootout.
