It is suspected that Chandiah killed the 50-year-old before stabbing himself.

Chandiah's close relative, who opted to remain anonymous says the family is unhappy with the police's decision.

"All of a sudden, without strong proper evidence, how did they come to the assumption that he committed suicide and murdered this girl?"

"I was livid. I was absolutely peeved off. They have no right, and you know what if they changed it to that, they could have informed the family first - not go and blast all over the news."

The loss of Chandiah is taking its toll on his family.

"He was the apple of our eye. It's painful that we lost him in this way. I couldn't even look at his body in the coffin because it just ate me up inside."

"I wanted to shake him and say Kresan, get up why are you sleeping."
