Family demands justice after eThekwini water tanker death
Celani Zungu's brother, who witnessed the incident and rushed him to hospital, says his family wants answers and justice as police continue with their investigation into the incident.
The family of a man who was run over by an eThekwini municipal water tanker in Adams Mission is calling for accountability.
Celani Zungu died at a healthcare facility after he was knocked on Sunday.
Family demands answers
Zungu's brother, Sakhile Zungu, is the last person to have seen him alive after taking him to hospital after the incident on Sunday.
He told Newswatch they had gone to check out a commotion unfolding between community members and the water tanker driver.
Zungu says he then saw the truck plough into Celani.
"It is hard for me to get this off my mind because I watched it happen right in front of my very own eyes.
"I am the one who rushed him to the hospital. I saw how badly injured he was. It is so painful. I won't say much, but I hope justice will be served and that the law will take its course."
Zungu says two other people narrowly escaped injuries, when the truck hit them, moments before it struck his brother.
The grieving family says while they mourn the tragedy that has befallen them, they still want answers and justice.
