eThekwini warns of mass water interruptions in Durban and surrounds
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Some areas in the north and inner west part of Durban can expect water supply disruptions for several hours from Tuesday.
The City says there'll be construction to carry out strategic tie-ins into the existing inlet of the Jan Roz Reservoir pipework.
"eThekwini Municipality will conduct a construction of Burbreeze Reservoir, Bulk Water Main and Pump Station to carry out strategic tie-ins into the existing inlet of Jan Roz Reservoir pipework. For this reason, a planned shutdown will take place.
"This process will begin on Tuesday, 25 August 2020 at 20:00pm to Wednesday, 26th August 2020 at 08:00am," says the City's spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela.

Umngeni Water will also undertake the same construction at its Durban Heights Treatment Work - affecting water supply in Mt Moriah Reservoir from 7am on Tuesday.
"This infrastructure development will allow Umngeni Water to break in the current line of the Pinetown suction lines to ensure sustainable water supply to eThekwini Municipality's Mt Moriah Reservoir.
"The construction will commence on 25 August 2020 from 07:00am to 26 August 2020 at 01:00am. During this process there will be zero incoming flow into Mt Moriah Reservoir, as a result, downstream reservoirs will have limited system input volume," says Mayisela.
