eThekwini: Overload to blame for power outages
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Head of eThekwini Municipality's electricity department says the outages experienced in some areas on Friday have nothing to do with the inclement weather.

Around eighteen areas have been left without power.
These include the Durban CBD, Amaoti, Umlazi, Glenwood and Wentworth.

eThekwini's Maxwell Mthembu says the cause is just a normal fault.
"Most of it is because of the load shedding. When the power is supposed to come back on after load shedding, it trips because of the overload.
"We are waiting for the load to die down and then we are going to bring it back up. It's not that it is something broken. It is an overload trip."
