eThekwini official's suspension lifted
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
eThekwini Municipality has revoked the suspension of its Parks and Recreation head, Thembinkosi Ngcobo.
Ngcobo was suspended last month after allegedly ignoring instructions from the city manager to cancel the social cohesion conference due to have taken place in June.
The municipality reportedly spent R2-million on the conference.
Ngcobo challenged the matter in court with the municipality withdrawing its case yesterday. Ngcobo says his focus is now on serving residents.
"We are extremely excited that all of this is behind us and we will be able to converge on the actual war at hand," he says.
The municipality has declined to comment.
