Elderly woman dies in Durban North pitbull attack

An elderly woman has been mauled to death by a pair of pitbulls in Durban North.
It is understood the woman was house-sitting in Greenwood Park when the animals turned on her this morning.
Crisis Medical's Kyle van Reenen says it is believed she is a relative of the homeowner.
"At approximately 12pm today, Marshall Security and Crisis Medical responded to a premises in Greenwood Park. Reports from the scene indicated that a female patient who is about 67-years-old was house-sitting at the time of the incident.
"She was attacked by two pitbull dogs. Unfortunately, the lady was found to be deceased when paramedics arrived. At this stage, the scene has been secured and handed over to the SA police," he said.

Police are at the scene and are investigating the attack.
