Elderly man wounded in Seaview home invasion

An elderly Durban man is recovering after he was shot, while protecting his family from armed robbers.

According to Blue Security, the criminals scaled the wall of a property in Seaview yesterday.  

They found a woman in the garden and allegedly frog-marched her into the house, before her father-in-law took out a gun and fired a shot.

The attackers also opened fire, hitting the man in the leg.  

Blue Security's Andreas Mathios says the suspect grabbed the man's firearm and fled without taking anything.

"The husband was extremely angry about the fact that people can just come in and interrupt daily routines and be so brazen about it," said Mathios.

"I was very surprised to see the number of bullet cases at the crime scene."

Police are looking for three suspects.
