Elderly man dies in KwaDukuza home invasion
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
A violent home invasion in KwaDukuza on the north coast has left a 76-year-old pensioner dead.
The man was stabbed to death last night.
His shocked wife was then robbed of her jewellery - including the wedding band she had been wearing.
Officers say the couple had been watching TV when three suspects stormed their home.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says KwaDukuza detectives are investigating a case of house robbery and murder.
"They ransacked the house and stole jewellery as well as demanded the woman to take off her wedding ring which she did," Mbhele said.
The suspects fled the scene on foot.
This follows another attack of a Westville resident who was shot dead when two suspects forced their way into her home last week. Her son-in-law was critically injured and is being treated in hospital.
