Education Dept. awaits feedback following KZN school fight
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The KZN Education Department is due to receive feedback on what led to another incident of school violence.
A fight between two Grade 11 girls was filmed and posted on social media.
In the footage, the pupils are seen kicking and hitting each other, before one of the girls is knocked to the ground - and passes out.
Education's Muzi Mahlambi says the fight took place at Khandlela High in Esikhawini near Empangeni on Thursday. He has dismissed rumours that the girl died - saying she's recovering at home.
"They are both in Grade 11 and are in the same class. They have been identified and parents have been called in. We don't want any form of fights in our school," he said.
