Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
A new water treatment research facility has been launched by the Durban University of Technology.
The state-of the art building is situated at the Steve Biko Campus.
It boasts four floors - two of them with 14 well-equipped laboratories.
The facility’s director Professor Faizel Bux says in the past - doing this type of research was difficult - but that this will now change.
"When I came here 25 years ago, and joined Technikon Natal - we didn't have any equipment. I would go to the department of Chemistry to borrow deionised water. Today, I'm happy that we are celebrating the launch of a beautiful and high-tech building."
