Firefighting efforts in #Durbanfire may continue into third night
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
It could be a third night at the scene for firefighters who have been working around the clock to put out a fire that broke out in a warehouse in Rossburgh, south of Durban.
The storage facility has been ablaze since Friday morning with thick smoke still visible in skies across parts of Durban.
Transnet, who owns the South Coast Road facility, has since launched their own investigation into the blaze.
EThekwini Fire Chief, Commander Enoch Mchunu, says they have cut down their man power from Friday's initial 150 fighters down to 80 yesterday and about 40 today.

He says while they have successfully separated the fire from any explosive chemicals however , parts of the damaged structure of the warehouse are making it difficult to reach certain areas.
He says while following the initial three people who were treated when the fire first broke out a fourth person, a firefighter had to be treated last night.

"We just had another one last night - which was due to heat exposure and dehydration. It was not a serious case, she was just taken in for observation. She is fine," he said.
