Durban suspects face drug dealing, bribery charges
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Three suspected drug dealers, allegedly operating in Chatsworth's Bayview area, are due to appear in court today.
The group was arrested on Friday during a joint operation by teams from Durban Metro and the SAPS.
The police’s Thulani Zwane says the suspects had been under surveillance for months.
He says officers swooped on a property on Pelican Drive where they found cocaine and arrested a man.
They were then taken to the man’s home in the area, where more drugs - with a street value of R500 000 - were seized and two others arrested.

But Zwane says one suspect tried to get police to let them go.
"She attempted to bribe the members by offering them R100 000 cash. The members who refused to be bribed arrested the suspect and the amount that was about to be handed over to the members was confiscated. She was then charged with a further charge of bribery," he says.
