Durban south and west areas hit by water interruptions
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Durban's southern and western parts have been hit by water supply problems.
eThekwini Municipality says its Shallcross Water Pump Station is experiencing a technical challenge.
The City says, due to a pump failure, there is no water being pumped to the Klaarwater Reservoir and its tower at the moment.
This, in turn, has had a severe impact on Shallcross, Chatsworth, and Klaarwater's water supplies.
eThekwini has apologised to residents and businesses affected by the interruptions.
It says repairs to the pump are already under way.
Officials are hoping to have it fixed it by Thursday.
In the meantime, water tankers are doing the rounds in the affected communities.
