Durban security guard killed outside place of work

A murder investigation has been launched after a security guard was gunned down outside his workplace in Durban on Tuesday morning.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the man was shot on Electron Road in Springfield by the occupants of car.
She says the victim is believed to have been in his fifties.
"He sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was declared dead at the scene. The matter is still under investigation."
At the same time, Durban central police are searching for the family of an unidentified man whose body was discovered nearly a month ago.

The police’s Thembeka Mbele says the man was found on Broad Street.
"A case of inquest was opened at the Durban Central police station. The body of the unknown man believed to be in his fifties was found on 16 July 2021.
"He was known as Collin and is suspected to be from the Phoenix area."
