Durban police need help to identify N2 body

Police are asking for the publics assistance in identifying a woman whose body was found with a single gun shot wound to the head on the N2 in Durban this morning.

Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found on the side of the highway just after the Spaghetti Junction.

Zwane says paramedics who were called declared the woman dead upon arriving on the scene.


"A murder case will be opened at Westville Police Station. The motive of the killing is still unknown at this stage. Her identity is unknown at this stage but we are appealing to anyone who might have any information about this incident to come forward and give us information so that the matter [can] be fully investigated," he said.


It's not know how long the body had been lying on the side of the highway.
