Durban Fire on scene of massive N2 bus fire
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A Durban motorist has described the scenes of a massive bus fire on the N2 - near Edwin Swales.
"It was terrible, it was hectic because I was coming from Amanzimtoti where I live and I work in Westville. As we were coming off into Spine Road - you could actually still see the black smoke. It was bad," she says.
Michelle Bloem says she was driving on the northbound carriageway and making her way to work this morning - when she saw the burning bus.
She says she didn't see emergency services vehicles on the scene but witnessed scenes of motorists stopping to assist who she thinks was the bus driver.
"There were people that assisted him. I'm so happy for him. I was just telling my son that if there was nobody - we would have had to stop," she says.

Durban Fire's Divisional Commander Nkulumo Dube says there were no injuries reported.
"There was a bus alight on the N2 Southbound. The fire has now been extinguished. It didn't take long to get the fire under control - but due to traffic, there was a slight delay with getting on scene," Dube says.
