Durban 'explosives' case: Remaining suspects could be linked to other cases
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
The Hawks hope to link the now 12 strong group arrested for allegedly planting incendiary devices in and around Durban earlier this year to more cases. They have been charged over the deadly knife attack at a local mosque in May.

The 12, who appeared in the Verulam Magistrate's Court yesterday, are currently facing 14 charges in relation to 11 cases.
"The investigations are yielding good results. There is one case that came to our knowledge that is going to be linked to this case. Hopefully, we will be able to finalise that," the Hawks's Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
Charges against seven of the 19 who were originally arrested, have been provisionally withdrawn, but Mulaudzi says they can be reinstated at a later stage.
"We have laws that we need to respect in this country. Not everyone will be happy," he said.

It is understood that these seven were not positively identified during an ID parade last week.
But State advocate Adele Barnard yesterday indicated she still intends on bringing an application for the court to order they provide DNA samples, to be tested against DNA left on at least some of the devices that were found around the city.
In the meantime, the case has been adjourned to next week for some of the remaining accused to apply for bail.
