Durban bombs: Police expect to make more arrests
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Police
expect to arrest more people for their alleged involvement in the planting of a
number of incendiary devices around Durban in July.

Police Minister Bheki Cele said yesterday that three people had been taken into custody in connection with the bomb scares.
Cele says a link has also been established between the incidents and the Verulam mosque attack, which claimed the life of one person and left two hurt.

The minister told reporters in Durban that the three suspects face serious charges.
“Arrested suspects are likely to face charges comprising of murder, contravening the explosives act and arson, among others,” he said,
“Up until this point, the team has established extortion as the most likely motive for these incidents.”
Cele said that they cannot rule out the possibility of other motives emerging.
