'Disruptive' fire warning issued for KZN, cold front to hit on Saturday

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for possible fires in the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Friday afternoon.

Fire-fighting teams work to keep the fire from crossing Philip Kgosana Drive, one of the main arterial roads into the city centre, threatening the suburb of Walmer Estate, after a forest fire burns out of control on the foothills of Table Mountain in Cape

Forecaster Wiseman Dlamini says the fires may cause disruption.

"Preparing and starting fires in a controlled manner is advised for today due to possibly unattended fires causing disruption.

"In the case of large fires it is best to move away from the area to allow professionals to deal with it."
