Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Officials probing the horror crash near Bergville this weekend say it appears that the driver of a car had been trying to overtake a minibus taxi when it collided head on with an oncoming truck.

Seven people were killed on the R74 on Saturday.
Authorities say four women who had been travelling from Durban to QwaQwa in the taxi died at the scene. Two people from the car were also killed.
A fifth taxi passenger died later in hospital. Transport's Mluleki Mntungwa says 11 others were hurt.
"We would like to send our deepest condolences to the families and wish all those who were injured a speedy recovery. The MEC has assembled a team to investigate the cause of the crash.
"Department officials are currently gathering information about the families so that we can be able to meet with the families of the deceased and make funeral arrangements," Transport's Mluleki Mntungwa said.
