The three-year-old girl was abused and killed in 2014.

Her mother and grandmother have been accused of her murder.

The State had wanted the clinical psychiatrist - who formed part of a panel that examined Baby X's mother at Fort Napier Hospital for 30 days - to testify today.

The defence, who requested the assessment, does not want the clinical psychiatrist to take the stand until they have been through the report so they can prepare for cross-examination.

A summary of the Fort Napier Report found that Baby's X's mother fit to stand trial. The clinical psychiatrist's testimony will now be heard from the 6th to the 10th of November.

Judge Mohini Moodley ordered the state give the defence the full report by the August 31.
