The death toll from a horrific crash in Durban's city centre has climbed to three.
Six people were in a bakkie that smashed into a fire hydrant at the corner of Dorothy Nyembe and Dr Pixley KaSeme Streets where one person died on the scene.
The other two who had suffered critical injuries have now passed away in hospital.
"Unfortunately a short while later, two of the critically injured passengers succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Police were on the scene and they are investigating further," Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson said.
