Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The DA in KZN says it will be approaching the head of the Moerane Commission into political killings in an effort to bring an end to the carnage in the province.

Provincial leader Francois Rodgers says they’ll be writing to Advocate Marumo Moerane to engage him ahead of planned multi-party roundtable talks.
On Wednesday, Police Minister Bheki Cele did not focus on the findings of the Moerane Commission while giving an update on an Inter-Ministerial Committee’s work against political killings.
The DA’s Rodgers says after spending R15 million to establish the Moerane Commission; the police minister cannot simply dismiss its findings.

"Bheki Cele was in the province, and he made a statement where he accused political parties of knowing who the perpetrators were, and again we call on Bheki Cele if he is aware of political parties who know who these killers are, then he is obligated to release that information so that it can be further tested and a solution found into this ongoing surge."
Meanwhile, speaking during the briefing on Wednesday, KZN SAPS commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said adding to the problem of political killings was the vast amounts of circulating illegal firearms, many of which, he said, are stolen.
