Cycling groups call for stricter action against road offenders
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Cycling groups are calling for more stringent action to be taken against those who don't obey the rules on the roads.
This comes after Leonard Silas was hurt after being knocked over by a bakkie while riding in a designated cycling lane along Masabalala Yengwa Avenue yesterday.
Greg Albert from Cycle Sphere says motorists should be more vigilant on the roads.
"We are in consultation with the city and with the RTI and the NMT to find out exactly where the cyclists can ride.
"Once we have that in black and white we will then enforce that with our cyclists. We just urge the motorists to please be on the lookout for the cyclists," he said.
