Covid-19 recoveries decline while Gauteng, NC, FS active cases increase

The number of Covid-19 recoveries continues to decline as the total of the active case increase in Gauteng, the Northern Cape and the Free State.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize reveals the latest data in his daily Covid-19 statement that was released on Monday evening.
Gauteng has 11 108 active cases, followed by 7 940 in the Northern Cape and the Free State with 7 166.

"The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 541 250 representing a recovery rate of 94,1%," says Mkhize.
The minister says a further 72 people passed away due to Covid-19 related complications which brings the total number of deaths to 55 874.
New cases of identified Covid-19 cases stands at 2 383.
As of today the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 637 848.
