Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga has
described the top 30 matriculants as the country's best assets.
The Minister was speaking at a top achievers' breakfast for the class of 2019 on Tuesday morning in Midrand, Johannesburg.

Motshekga said the aim of the breakfast was to celebrate the top 30 matriculants as they will take South Africa forward.
"We don't have to panic about the 4th industrial revolution, because here we have the people who are going to drive it,” said Motshega.
"You are the ones who are going to take us there as a country, you are the best, you are brilliant kids."

Motshekga said an analysis of the class of 2019’s results illustrate that schools from poor areas are also improving when it comes to matric exam performances.
